If you use your bike most days then it is probably a good idea to have a service once in a while, that way we can catch any worn or improperly adjusted parts before they do any expensive damage.
An advanced service every year and a total service every couple of years is probably about right for most people. Although if you ride a lot – good on you, you hero - you may want a general service every 6 months to keep on top of it.
I can source parts for you if you would like - give me a call if you’d like to discuss this or just want to talk about bikes or riding.
I’ll normally test ride your bike before I do any work - unless it hasn’t got a chain or brakes – that way we can have a discussion about what you feel that you want doing, I then test ride it once I have finished, before making any final adjustments.
All prices below are exclusive of parts, unless stated otherwise.
Pumping up tyres and oiling chains is free – of course.
General Service £60
Adjustment of everything that can be adjusted – brakes, gears, headset, hub bearings etc. Wheels trued and all bolts correctly tightened. Installation of externally routed cables and brake pads, if needed is included. Chain lubricated and tyres inflated.
Advanced Service £90
All of the above, plus drivetrain components removed, cleaned, refitted and adjusted. Includes fitting of drivetrain components, such as chain and cassette.
For an extra £30 I’ll give it a damn good clean too.
Total service £150
Everything from the advanced service, plus headset stripped down, cleaned and regreased. Seat post removed, cleaned and greased. Installation of parts is included although there maybe an additional cost if parts are supplied by the customer.
Puncture repair/ tyre swap £20
including a new inner tube.
But I don’t want a service...You might not want a service – which is fine, of course. I am happy to do small jobs, contact me for details.
Individual jobs - charged at £40 per hour – contact me to discuss what you need and I am sure that I can help you out.
Extras and additions - Service prices include the cost of installing parts at a suitable level for the service. A general service would include the labour of fitting brake pads, and an advanced service a chain and cassette for example. If additional work is needed it will be charged for accordingly. This includes the cleaning of excessively dirty bikes and parts, the installation of bearings, and surcharges for internal cabling to reflect the extra time taken. If unsure please ask for more details.
Collection and drop off requirement - a general service is the minimum booking to qualify for collection/drop-off within a 10 mile travel distance. If your requirement is less or you are further away than this you can drop to me, contact me to arrange this.
I reserve the right to charge a 50% deposit for block bookings for multiple bikes, which is
non-refundable if the work is cancelled by you within 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time.
